my brilliant idea

Max1

random Max photo

My brilliant idea
When you go to the movies
mixed in with a few previews
are mini commercials/movies
(think Pixar short movie before the real movie)
bringing back our fave TV/movie characters
showing us where they are now
and all of this funded by the companies who would
normally play so much money for product placement.

Example:

You see Harry and Sally
(from when Harry met Sally)
in their everyday life
like their family all sitting around a table
while Sally places her order and the waitress looks
at them like
"is she for real?"
and the whole family kinda shrugs
Maybe it is really an ad for the resturant chain
or they are all drinking a frosty Coke

Just think:
the gang at Cheers
Tony and Angela from who's the boss
Doogie Houser rolling his eyes at some young upstart kid intern
Friends
Buzz and Woody

Getting to have a little glimpse again
at the characters we loved

It would help in DVD sales of those TV shows/movies
It would be entertaining for me
(which is the true motivation here)
It would help set the tone for the movie they are about to show
It would advertise in an interesting way products
It would make going to the movies all the more exciting

I really have more details on how to get the actors to do this
worked out (way beyond need) in my head
but it only gets less interesting

So - what characters would you love to see interacting again?
Where would you want to see them?
Doing what?

The whole idea of this makes me very happy.
happy Wed!

I have a date:)

Tags

1. Alex has been keeping all the tags
I have made for his gifts over the past 2 years.
Christmas, birthday, misc.
All in this little file folder.
Isn't that sweet? I had no idea.

2. I have a date today!
The kids are in day camp this week and,
for the first time ever,
I have been in my house alone all week.
And to be honest...I was a little bored.

After we drop off the boys in the am,
JD is taking me to see Mamma Mia,
to brunch and then
(ok, less exciting)
I am going to meeting with him...
but
wait for it
at Starbucks.
So I will read and sip a frothy coffee at Starbucks.
That, to me, is the essence of free time.
And then we pick up the boys.

3. What is "the essence of free time"
for you?

happpy FRIDAY!!

CHA cha CHA

600

1. Not going to CHA but I am sending this prize:
12 cards (most previously featured in Autumn Leaves books and Cal. ie: old stuff:)
1 large and two small Heather Bailey
stamps
and some new AL ink that is awesome
If you go to the 2 Peas drop in - you may win it
or get stuck with it
semantics, really

2. today in the car:
Max - I really would love to have the movie Karate Kid 1,2 and 3.
Me - We could buy it.
Max - Really?
Me - It probably is pretty cheap because that movie came out when I was a kid.
Max - Wow, I didn't know it was a really old movie!
Me - Am I really old?
Max - (with right eyebrow raised and grin) Noooooo.

3. I don't acutally subscribe to any scrapbook magazines.
But, I do like to flip thru them at the grocery store
as little boys fidget in the buggy
and pop cycles melt

I broke down and bought
Mini Albums in an evening
put out by Simple Scrapbooks.

Lots of good stuff
but the pages I dog eared are:
Candice Palmer's Birthdays album
Rebecca Cooper's Trick or Treat album
Margaret Scarbrough's One Week album
(mercy - she gets SO much done....it
would take me all summer to do that much)
Elizabeth Dillow's Family Defined by Numbers album

4. I can't wait to see all the CHA picks!
And I hope to go to Winter CHA in CA:)

5. Happy WED!

new video, new hair

New video of my scrapbook space
over at the GG blog (here)
at Two Peas in a Bucket

My new haircut

Hair1

8 inches cut off.
Um....it will not look like this all the time.
I have pretty wavey hair...ok, wavey implies a pattern.
I have pretty enthusiastic hair.
Here is what it looked like this morning.

Hair2

Yeah, I even wake up in black and white.
Can't you just hear that 1950's horror movie scream?

Happy Sunday,

my trunk, my trunk

Img_8030

my trunk
my trunk
my lovely
suburban mommy trunk

1. 3 karate bags, pool bag, 3 noodles, 2 boogie boards

2. the partridge ate the pear tree

3. I grow out my hair.
I cut it off.
I grow out my hair.
I cut it off.
I grow out my hair.
Today, I cut it off.

4. "Well bring on the dancing tubas!"
David blurted this out one day.
Don't know where it came from.
But it is now the new phrase to express glee around here.

5. "Is there such a thing as an astroid inspector?"
I wonder if Max is pondering career options or just curious?

6. Max for the past 4 days has been wearing this.

And carrying this everywhere.

7. A whip seems like an appropriate items for a 6 year old - right?
It does play the theme song.

8. What is in your trunk?
Happy Thurs!

my better Friends finale

4266520848_2

Becky alerted me to this: Friends Reunion Possibility

Remember how the last 2 episodes wrapped up?
I'll sum up:

Chandler and Monica put an offer on the house in the suburbs.
They like the house next door to them only to realize
Janice and her husband are thinking of buying it.
Chandler professes love for Janice to get her not to buy the house.
Erica gives birth to twins to be adopted by Chandler and Monica.
Rachel went to the airport.
Ross and Phoebe rush to the airport to stop her.
They have to buy 2 tickets to get thru security.
They get to the gates and realize they are at the wrong airport.
Phoebe calls Rachel and tells her the plane doesn't have a left phalange.
All passengers get off and delay the plane long enough for Ross to get there and profess his love.
Rachel gets on the plane.
Ross goes back to the apartment and hears a message from Rachel.
She loves him and is trying to get off the plane.
She shows up at the apartment.
Chandler and Monica and the babies are moving out.
Rachel and Ross are dating.
They all leave their keys on the counter.

OK

My version:

Chandler and Monica put an offer on the house in the suburbs.
Erica gives birth to twins to be adopted by Chandler and Monica.
Rachel went to the airport.
Ross and Phoebe rush to the airport to stop her.
They have to buy 2 tickets to get thru security.
Ross says, "Just 2 tickets to anywhere."
They get to the gates and realize they are at the wrong airport.
Phoebe calls Rachel and tells her the plane doesn't have a left phalange.
All passengers get off and delay the plane long enough for Ross to get there and profess his love.
Pheobe (driving her Grandma's cab) drops Ross at the curb at the airport.
Ross runs to Rachel (dodging items and jumping over things ala pre-creepy OJ days)
You see him disapear thru some luggage and people.
Chandler, Monica and babies are back at the apartment.
Pheobe tells them what happened and that Ross never came back to the cab.
She tried calling him (pulling out that way old cell phone she used to have)
Later, in walk Ross and Rachel.
The tickets that Ross and Phoebe got to "anywhere" turned out to be to Vegas.
They flew there, got married and flew back to NY.
They decide to go out to Central Perk to get coffee.
They all leave their keys on the counter.
In the little 30 second scene that shows right before the credits:
Chandler goes out to get the paper off the front porch at the new house in his robe.
As he leans over to pick it up, he hears
"Oh MY gawwd!"
And you never see her but you realize Janice is his next door neighbor.

The reasons I like this better
1. I came up with parts of it and I am partcial to me.
2. I don't trust Ross and Rachel to not break up again.
3. The Janice character is always brought out at the most unexpected moments.

I know, the tickets to Vegas might be a little too neat.
But still.
I figured up this ending 2 days after the real finale aired
and, whew....it feels good to finally say it;)

Happy Tues!

I read and article...

Maxinabox_1

Optimism.

Me - David, can you tell me what time the microwave says?

David - It is 11:04.

Me - Wow, I totally couldn't read that.

David - You know, I read an article in a magazine that sometimes older people have trouble hearing too.

Me - What?

He said it very matter of fact
not at all sassy
Just an FYI &
I might want to be on the lookout

That same day a news anchor was talking about middle age
and said "ages 35 to 50..."
I was all WHAT?
And then I added 35 + 35.
Then I was all MAAAAAN!

Happy Monday,
kellicrowe

Vicki - please e-mail me at walkingonsunshine73@yahoo.com with your address and I'll ship these goodies off to you.  And put "prize" or "blog" in the subject line...lest I get you confused with the the kind Nigerian Prince who keeps e-mailing me about his financial issues.

HA!! I think we all feel that way with the darn packaging that everything comes in today!! But that stampy thing looked like it was worth the effort to get it out of the packaging!! Without a video like that I would have passed it by in the store!! thanks for sharing!! Got my fingers and toes crossed that you PICK ME!! hehehe
