so I ended my 2005
(OK - I do forget that there is last week of the year between Christmas and New Years....
It really does surprise me every year that there is still time left before I can start on my new calendar)
so I "ended" my 2005 by doing some super fun things for other people
I used a lot of my best pictures
This is a lo I did out of scraps that were on my counter.
and the super duper fun Li'l Davis flowers that I have had FOREVER.
i kept them because I liked them so much.
What if I can't find them again?
Whatever will I do?
Wherever shall I go?
That kind of thinking is about as dumb as saving candles and those decorative soaps.
You are just gonna dump them out 12 years from now when they are unrecognizable, dusty lumps of their former selves. Stop saving your best for some day. Use your best stuff for you. Now.
Sorry that is a pet peeve of mine.
SO - I was doing the same thing with some of my fave scrapping supplies.
I have had this picture of my Granny for years.
I didn't scrap it because I didn't know anything about it.
Sadly, my Grandmother doesn't remember this picture any more either.
So why was I saving it?
I love the fact that it is a picture of her when she was young.
I am just so self absorbed that i still forget that sometimes my parents/grandparents were young people once. Yes...I still think my 3rd grade teacher lives at the school and never goes to the bathroom.
This isn't a memory for my Granny anymore.
Now it is one for me.
Because it makes me think about her and smile.
The picture isn't good enough quality to send in somewhere.
It is a fun sideshow that I look at and get distracted by sometimes.
I am in the mood to scrap.
And to scrap all those not super pics but super memories.
What are you in the mood to scrap?
That background is NOT burgandy. If you think I have issues with floral shaped soaps....burgandy is a whole new level of angst for me. The background is a brown. Nice, soothing brown.
