A lo I made for the Scrap In Style TV.
See the pink houndstooth? I designed that.
Ok....I said, how about pink houndstooth and someone else with actual computer skills designed it.
But still, to say, how about this?
And then for a few weeks later to have this arrive at your house
and to be able to scrapbook with it is
You can purchase the Window Shopping Collection here.
You can see the newest webisodes/interviews with me/me scrapbooking there too by just logging in.
(like there isn't enough of me here...haha)
I am not a natural in front of the camera...let me tell you.
They did a great job of editing
because early on, I got the giggles something serious.
And, very thoughtfully, they edited out all the times I dropped the item I was working on.
Lets just say, QVC isn't going to be beating down my door:):)
Anyway, I was totally honored that they asked me to design anything, really.
It was a total kick. And then to see their SISters scrapbooking with it...dude.
I totally told my husband like a year and a half ago:
There needs to be a tv show or something that adds a little People Magazine, School House Rock How A Bill Becomes a Law and Edgie tv show for scrapbooking. Ok, I didn't say edgie at the time....but still.
Here are a couple more:
1. Happy Birthday to John David!
2. I'm off to visit a natropathic clinic today for my allergies, etc.
4 hours of tests.
Some of them make a lot of since.
Some seem a little hocus pocus.
But since both my allergist and my internest both did loads of teasts and then basically said,
"Wow, let me know what you find out"
ie - you don't have to come back here because we can't help you,
I am hoping for some sort of....somtheing today:)
3. In prep for the testing I had no sugar yest.
4. DUDE. Apparently, my body misses it.
5. I am allergic to onions and peppers. Like can't be near them. Like can't go in parts of the produce section at the grocery store, can't go to certain restaurants because someone near me may order something with onions. Yeah. It is kinda annoying. It is actually amazing how often I encounter onions.
6. Happy Tuesday!
7 gypsies stamped on the wall
(how handy not to have to re-ink...ya know)
glued pom poms to the columns
inside the house
spilled 1/2 a bottle of elmers on the carpet
this is what i have found...thus far
where IS his mother?
today the cameras from
Scrap In Style
are at my house
i am reminded of some random comic guy
(he played chandler's crazy roommate on friends when joey moved out)
that Robin Leach went to interview
back in the day
of Life Styles of the Rich and Famous
and his house was a total mess
and he looked Robin in the face and said
"wait, do some people clean up for this?"
whenever someone is at my house
and it isn't clean
which is most often
i think to myself
"wait, do some people clean up for this?"
Scrap In Style TV's site went live today!
check out the home page here
It is way way cool.
There are some web cast interviews and how tos....think a scrapping TV show on your computer.
There is a pretty random interview with me.
I am not used to being interviewed...so instead of being myself....
I end up trying to pretend to be me and not quite getting it right.
Funny that my kellicrowe impersonation needs some work:):)
If you click on the boutique button
you will see this
There is a premuim membership where you get a album and the collection and extras.
If you scroll ot hte bottom of the page, you will see the collection itself.
They are coming here to ATL to film me some more this week.
I better work on my kellicroweness.
I am so close on getting the accent right.....
:) happy TUESDAY!
4 days in NC with my fam while JD was at a conference in Charlotte.
Mom helped me out in a huge way with making 700 hand made....somthings....for the new Scrap In Style collection coming out.
Home on Sat - NSD - to unpack, repack
Do my 2 mid month garden lo's
Host my 1 hour NSD chat at 2 peas
Make sure tivo would record all my shows while gone
and leave the next morning for Fl for 7 days.
But the vacation was so awesome
We did so much of nothing
It was super
So so super.
I always give the kids an extra day off school after traveling
So that they can re-acclamate
Yeah....it is for the kids.....:)
i have to say
i mostly scrapbook my kids
but since i have had assignements and color palettes.....pallettes..
i have scrapbooked about myself a lot more
i was recently asked for suggestions of what to scrapbook if you are not in the married/have kids catagory
it got me to thinking about those types of options
so i started to make a list
1. your childhood
i think Ali Edwards has most inspired me on this
i used to think i needed a story or memory to go with each photo
but i love how she will take just a few photos from a particular year and scrapbook them together
remembering me lo at 2 peas in a bucket
here is one i did totally inspired by Ali
little 1980 me....ages 6-7
2. scrap goals
i feel a little goofy putting my raw feelings about me on a page...i can do it for and about others...but me....makes me feel silly at times
but i think it is still important
here is a page i did of my goals as a kid - i think they still relate so much to who i am now...
when i grow up
3. scrap your favorites...songs, places, people
i will say - i used to think this was a little indulgent when i first started scrapbooking
i mean, why on earth would someone spend time scrapbooking their love of tacos when there were birthday parties to document? then my friend jacquie died. it changed my whole perspective on scrapbooking from documenting events to capturing my story. thats right. MY story. i scrapbook for me. it is often someone else, including the kids that are the subject of the page...but it is from my perspective and my perpective shows what is important to me.
4. i think scrapping about events is very important...like events that are historical markers in your life. lisa bearnson did a lo a while back of where she was the day of columbine, when elizabeth smart was found..etc. it could be something like just remembering when my family got our first microwave or computer (....abbie, if you are reading this, it about the time you were an embryo...ok?) every life span is a remarkable time to be alive. it is well worth documenting events big and small.
5. i love scrapbooking pictures of my mom growing up. i have scanned as many photos of her, her sisters and my grandmother as possible. any time i get to see a family photo of before i was born...i am always thinking of how i can borrow it long enough to scan. once again...it isn't like i have a story to go with each photo. here is a link the the current challenge at 2 peas this week:
clear lo of my mom and her sister
laura kurz does an amazing job with family photos. i love the elegant simplicity. each time i try to scraplift her it takes me hours and i have no idea why.
laura: old photos
another laura one
5. tracy white and elsie both do really great jobs of journaling in very different ways.
tracy really stuns me with her introspection on a page. i don't have specific lo's in mind...i just know that whenever i read a lo of hers in ck...i am always really inspired to be a better journaler.
elsie is as much a visual journaler as a writer. the color, pattern and feeling of her pages, to me, relays as much about her subject and mood as the words do. i couldn't find it in her 2 peas gallery - but she did a really great basic grey album for one of their contests that was kinda like an open letter to her future children of who she is right now. i thought it was a wonderful idea. i often forget that my parents were not blinked into exsistence the moment i appeared on the scene.
your homes where you have lived
your cats/dogs....i tell you, she makes me want to get a dog
school pictures.....including those horrible ones
a very old lo i did "the awkward years" try not to laugh
any other ideas?
i want to make this list nice and long
thanks for you help!!
we had 103 people palying "I Never" last night at 2 peas ina bucket.
my list of "I nevers" can be pretty long. there is a lot i have never done.
so lets play here: i never, i want to, i will...scrapbooking related and non scrapbooking related
i never have done a digi lo
i never have mixed in differnt size lo's with my 12 x12's
i never have scrapbooked high school pictures
i never have seen Titanic
i never have seen an episode of Grey's Anatomy
i want to clean up my scrap space after i use it
i want to make more pages
i want to write a children's book
i want to keep my house cleaner
i will not stress out over the fact my pictures which used to be in order are spiralling out of control
i will use my stuff i have instead of just ordering more and using what is on top of the pile
i will write down the things of everyday life that i want to scrapbook
i will read my Bible every day
i will drink mostly water....mostly
i will write a children's book....even if it is only for my own children
i will actually keep up with my e-mail....yipes
how about you?
Sat is National Scrapbook Day!
Come on over to two peas in a bucket 9 am - 9pm Cent time
for some fune stuff...that i can not mention....
and chats hosted every hour by garden girls
and prizes...like idea books, stamp sets....yeah, goood stuff
given away every hour
Jen McGuire and I will be hosting the last chat of the day - 9pm cent time
happy happy day!!
(name spelled mirror image and everything;)
another little oddity i made for a circle journal.
oh, happy April 32nd.
i know...there are not 32 days in April. There aren't even 31. I know that
see, i use a calendar that is a grid of the whole month.
i still had blocks left over after the 30th...and i continued to fill them in
with appointments and things to do and assignments.
imagine my shock when i found i was double booked
and had a lot less month than i thought.
i realized this on the 29th.
how can i be out of month? i still have blocks left.
happy MAY 2nd.
my nest of magazines
i sort thru them a couple times a year
cut out the pictures i like
ideas for scrapbooking
ideas for the house
ideas of colors i like
ideas for homeschool
i don't have to have any ideas of my own
i just have to know where to look for them
i keep notebooks for these different catagories
and for holiday ideas
i totally do this when i don't feel like scrapbooking
which isn't often
but does happen
speaking of scrapbooking
it is 1:42 am
and i am still working on my garden items
getting them loaded
never been late before
i don't like to be late
but i am
even though i don't like it
where do you keep your ideas?
