the maxwell show
Max hiding in the pillowcase...wanting to go to camp a few weekends ago with Daddy and his brothers.
Poor guy was stuck with just me.
Max - Mommy? Mommy?
Mommy? Can we get more watermelon
at the grocery store?
Me - Max. Max. Max.
Yes.
Max - Our old watermelon
is all molllldy.
Me - Then we should definately
get more watermelon at the store.
Max - You know what else we need to get?
Some of those "Green Bags" tha keep
fruit fresh for like 30 or 50 days.
Perfect recall on commercials...
We still can't remember the difference
between a lower case b and d.
Perhaps if I came up with a catchy jingle....
JD said it is like the Truman Show
where their regular life was a commercial
for products.
Happy Thurs!

My son's kindergarden teacher offered this solution to kids who had a hard time with b and d.
Make a fist with both your hands and then point your pinky fingers up. Place the "b" fist next to the "d" fist and you make a "bed."
I still see my now first grader rely on this method when he is not sure. Hope this helps your guy too.

my son is the same way with commercials. The first few times he saw the Oxy clean guy...whoa!

omg - we totally have the commercial thing down. . .and the most unusual products besides. . .we'll be shopping, and Ryan will say, "mom - ya know if we had the x, then we could x, y, & z - wouldn't that be cool??" so innocent - so cute!

Obviously you need to make a commercial for the alphabet! Don't you have another son that does animation...just imagine the possibilities! :)

Dang! Katherine beat me to the catchy jingle!! bed really does work!!

One thing she didn't mention... is that when your child is learning the SOUNDS you can relate it like this, when you SAY bed, the 'buh' sound that B makes also makes a line with your lips. So does saying B's name... B... your lips make a line!! Lower case b STARTS with a line!! D doesn't.

Try "b's" buzz forward, "d's" fall back.

Has he been watching Nickelodian? My kids keep saying we need those bags too and the Aqua globe that waters plants becuase I am always killing them! But the kids, the dog and rat are surviving! 8*)

For my kids and students I use "big" as I hold up my clenched left hand thumb proudly upright then "deal" with the right said with gusto! a few weeks of repeating the mantra whenever the opportunity arises has never failed...good luck

Oh, Addie is like that, too. She told my mother (who is only 60!) that she should get Life Alert! (She also really thinks we should Oxi-clean and the fake dirt on a roll that you just water and get tons of flowers.)
