Proverbs 13:20 He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. Ain't that the truth. The Bible verse the kids (and I:) will memorize this week. As an adult - doesn't it make you want to "Ummm Hmmmmm." What does this Bible verse have to do with this list? My friend Russ. First you need to know, Russ is a girl. I have met males named Russ - but it is a totally feminine name to me. I met Russ in college. We were friends there - but became close only after we no longer lived across the hall from each other...but in other states. Whats up with that? Anyway - I totally adore her. I was on the phone with her a few days ago. She was making pancakes for dinner (what a fun Mom). She was telling me about the recipe for these special pancakes (Russ is the kind of person who reads Southern Living Magazine and then uses the recipes, gardening tips, etc to enhance her life and those around her. I look at the pictures) So she photo copies the recipe and sticks it in the envelope to send, seals it and addresses it for me all while I am sure I was blathering on about something having to do with myself. She mentions she has it ready to go for me - but didn't put in a note or anything. I don't remember what I said - but I bet it was something smartie-ish like, "Well, you can always just write a list of things you like about me on the envelope." 2 days later - this arrives. Now, the fact that Russ would indulge me in such a way is not the reason I so love her. But is it a definite serendipity of our friendship. My fave one the list is the "you made me Martha Stewart granola one time." HeeHee. I did make it ONE time:) OH, and my other fave thing - the little arrow on the back that lets you know the list is continued on the front of the envelope. Back to the verse. When I think about those who's friendship I have held on to thru the years - it is because they are the "wise". I feel like I am walking with the wise. Girlies who would let me know if I am off base, in left field...off my rocker...with love and sweetness and concern. 'Cause I require a team of people for this:) Ok - the English Major in me (gasp - hey, I didn't say Spelling Major) knows that this entry needs a little something something. Like better cohesion. Just think cohesive thoughts - kay? kelli
