So we are home from CA.
Pulled in the garage at 12:30 am.
In the past 21 days we have been in Vegas, Pueto Rico and the West Indies islands and Southern California. We have traveled 16 of the past 21 days.
It makes me wonder:
who's
life
is
this?
I mean....
I am a homebody.
And here I have gone to the bathroom on an airplane more in the past couple of weeks than in my whole life time.
Yes, we took the kiddos and Abbie.
And you know what California?
I like you
I really like you.
Sorry for talking smack about ya.
Saying things like:
Dude, I am so not brave enough to live there.
mud slides
rolling black outs
earth quakes
"the big one"
the fact I can't keep flip flops on my feet
fires
I mean
for a scaredie cat....it is hard not to lump every thing I have ever seen about CA on the news in the past 15 years into one thought.
As Boyd Prichett said on the short lived sitcom Boston Common, "California is the on ramp to the apocolypse"
But ya know what.
I was lured in with that weather.
I like the fact you can see so far away there.
(I kept asking hubby why we couldn't see so far away here in Ga.
He gave me that look he gives the kids when they ask something like "Why can't I see the moon out my window if he can see it out his?"
Trees
Hills
Buildings
All reasons they don't call GA big sky country.
Ok)
The beaches....wow.
We were in San Diego.
Did the zoo, the harbor, toured an air craft carrier.
Stayed in Carlsbad.
(Which doen't Carlsbad sound like a sentence fragment?
Carl's bad attitude.
Carl's bad Harley.
Carl's bad. He's really really bad. And the whole world might have to answer once again...who's bad?
Well, Carl.) (that sentence only works if you are thinking Micheal Jackson...pre-child dangling over the rail years)
Went to Laguna Beach.
Amazing!
Ahem...the company of Tara Whitney taking pictures of the fam would make any environment amazing.
Went to a rockin' scrapbbok store in Irvine: The Scrapbook Oasis.
SUPER!
I will try to get a link for the sidebar.
So...just when I have mellowed to CA.
Just when I stopped thinking everytime we were under and overpass or in a tunnel: this would be a bad time for an earthquake...because I am guessing there isn't a super handy time for that ever)
I see
THIS
sign.
DUDE.
It was on the side of the road just north of Carlesbad.
These people are not crossing the road.
They are fleeing.
FLEE
ING
I mean...the kid's feet are not even on the groud.
There is one going both directions
away from the ocean.
Is this a caution: people may be fleeing something zone?
What are they fleeing from?
I mean....
YIKES whatever it is behind them.
Woe to those who do not flee in time.
Really
It cracked me up and unnerved me all at once.
I liked CA.
It is nice to be home.
Back to the no van
the laundry piled up
and the basement still not fixed.
I wonder if I can buy one of those fleeing signs from the CA DMV?
Anyone seen momm-eee?
OH
She fled.
Although, they cutely would say
"fleed"
happy Monday
is that today?
