me: why do you need one?
david: i need to take a picture.
me: oh, i can take one for you with my camera. what do you need a picture of?
david: of my crackers....so you can make a scrapbook page about it.

so i was cleaning out the garage
and in true kelli cleaning fashion
i had to dump out everything
in order to start to clean anything
at the bottom of the sand toys box
i found these two cups
back from the sorority and fraternity days
funny how something we truely enjoyed
and really valued back then
is only still around these days
in the bottom of our kiddo's sand toys

so last night
i was kinda wound a little tightly
i was ready for the kiddos to go to bed
i was ready to veg
i was ready to be alone
jd put the boys to bed
while he did that
i made this
and 20 minutes later
i was better
i was a normal person again
well
as normal as i get
now...this isn't really a page
i think i will stitch on it
i have no idea about which pictures to use
or the topic
but it made me feel better to just tear paper and organize it
i was trying to figure out
what i like best about scrapbooking
the photos
the handling paper
the quotes
the feeling of putting it into my album when i am done
looking at finished lo's
the getting the memories on the paper
the sewing on the page by hand
digging thru a jar of buttons
hearing my husband say nice things about a lo
i think i like it all
the whole process
the whole end result

a lo i did yest
because when i have a bazillion things to do
is when i want to scrapbook

we have pet fruit flies

DUDE.
so the kiddos went to a few day camps this summer
one was a bug camp
they came home with
self contained friut fly environments
(so at no point are we touching, feeding or anything with them...shiver at the thought)
so that the kids could watch them be fruitful and multiply
at least they didn't feel the need to name them all
they are in a special area
where the fish
the tadpole
the grasshoppers (YES....pets from the same bug camp)
and the fruit flies all live
2 of these "pets" are very much like the Old Testiment Plagues
the fruit fly habitats are going
away

during a 3 hour board game of "Acquire"
jd, alex and i have been playing for-ever
i knew i was going to loose about 45 minutes into it
Acquire is like Risk
except with properties instead of armies
so i decided to blog while waiting for my turn
where i play a tile
and buy nothing
because i have no money
but i can't think of anything to blog that is relevant either
at least i found this bag of chocolate chips
the evening isn't totally lost:)

well...gotta be stiched on chipboard buttons ...and rub-ons used on the photo itself...plain old staples..transparencies..and journaling with a white sharpie... reaching for these items repeatedly.

i was a little late in posting because i was watching a movie that ended less happily than i would have liked. at my house, that means i must follow the less than happy ending movie with a garanteed movie.

end....
so tierd lately
and my e-mail
as if with ill intent
seems to always be full of like 589 messages
and a few are important
but mostly
not
and my spam filter seems to be filtering less
because if you were to take an accounting of my interests
based on my inbox this am
you'd think i was in need of drugs for male issues
that i had won a multitude of prizes just awaiting my claims to be staked
and that there are many in other lands who have funds that just need a kind soul to help by opening up my bank account
seriously
can one just say
um, the e-mail thing
yes, i don't do that any more
my grandmothers do not e-mail
no one thinks that is odd
but if you say

i am suppossed to list 8 things you may not know about me
haha
like i have kept 8 things to myself or something
i don't have a reserve of interesting facts
but here goes:
1. the only things that hangs on my walls are pictures of my kids, pictures by my kids and brain andreas
prints....which look like a kid made them.
2. i can enjoy a movie or a book the second time sometimes more than the first because i already know
how it ends.
3. i do not eat or touch or want to see ketchup.
4. i can relate most things back to star wars or star trek.
5. i get lost all the time. all. the. time.
6. i do not have the attention span to fill my gas tank up on the suburban....so i rarely fill it all the way up.
7. my last house was decorated...but that was before i started scrapbooking seriously.
we've been in this house for 5 years and parts still look like we just moved in. apparently,
i can't decorate and scrap in the same year.
8. i seem to be so optimistic...and i am...but there are dark dark recesses in my mind of worse case
scenerios and tragic endings pretty much all the time.
9. i just got a call from dhl and they said i had a package coming to me from ohio that had a problem
with the address and they had to return it to the sender. that is all they could tell me. i wasn't
expecting anything. i'm not missing anything. and yet....i feel really really compelled to find out
what it is. like i have missed out on something important.
10. ok, it was suppossed to be 8 things. but once i get started talking about myself....it really is hard to
stop.
