Commercial:

I am not sure how these things happen to me, but Epson asked me to try out their new Artisan 800 wireless printer.  About 4 years ago, I saw a photo Lisa Russo had printed out at her house.  My husband looked over my shoulder at it and said, "Whatever kind of printer she is using, you need to get one just like it."  Now, it isn't often that I am told to go and buy something...so 30 seconds later, I was on the phone with Lisa.  She said she used an Epson printer with Epson paper. 

I have used an Espon printer ever since.

I am still learning all the tricks that the Artisan 800 can do, but I have to say I am thrilled with it.  So far I have printed pictures for scrapbooking, for framing, a cd label and turned a picture of Max dressed as a mummy into a coloring page for him.  I can't wait to check out the photo restoration setting.  (Good bye 70's faded yellow on all my growing up pics!)

When JD opened the box he said, "Cool. It is wireless."  That is a lot of enthusiasm from my very laid back, even keeled husband.  If you have fax/printer/photo printer/scanner/photo project maker on your wish list - this is a cool one. 

Now, if the makers of BMW, KitchenAid or J. Crew want to send any of their stuff this way...

Seriously, Epson people, you had me at, well, "Epson."

And I am thankful for having such an amazing list of things that people are thankful for.  It really filled my heart, made me cry and feel so blessed.  If you come here just for free stuff - I am so ok with that.  The fact that anyone wants to read the random things I write about thrills me probably more than it should.  I wish I could send everyone a box or NEW stuff:)

Bringing the funny to Scrapbooking

I met Lain quite by accident.

Well...I guess you meet most people without planning it...

But I met her at the Scrap Etc. Event in Birmingham a few years ago.

We carpooled from the store to the hotel together.

(Lain - I am sure I outspent you four fold)

Lain wrote a book

It was great.

And exhausting.

I have the sudden need

to put up my Christmas tree....

in our neck of the woods

this is so normal.

Reading is cool

He reads.

In a box.

With a fox.

He can read with a ruler

or even

in a cooler.
Or with Ferris Bueller.

He reads here 

or

there.

He reads most anywhere.

Pretty good for a kid who didn't talk until he was 4.

Cocoa Daisy November Kit fun

Isn't there just something about fall that makes you think about Cocoa?

Stacy Julian designed the kit this November for Cocoa Daisy.

And the nice folks over there sent me a kit to play with.

This lo was inspired by this Pottery Barn Kids quilt.

I added a litte bit of canvas to the kit to make this lo.

My sweet little niece Madison.

I got the journaling strips out of order...woops.

(The teal paper is mine - the rest is from the kit:)

I have been so inspired by Rita lately (RitasCottage over at 2 peas).

I love her textured paper approach to scrapbooking.

I really love how Jennifer Johner uses tiney bits as boarders on her lo's.

I WAS going to sew this...but I broke the needle on my machine again.

I pulled out some Autumn Leaves rub ons from way back way back and used them instead.

I am loving getting to use old scrapbooking stuff with the new.

I am really into these 2 pagers lately.

Ok, really a page and a half.

Page 2 is a 6x12 page.

It is a great option for adding journaling or extra pictures.

I thought the first pic was funny...Max was getting a hair cut in the background.

This lo was inspired by a guitar t-shirt in the Mini Boden catalogue.

I drew a guitar on scratch cardstock.

I cut it out and used it as my template.

Then I traced it and cut it out of my brown cardstock.
