Shutterfly is letting me give away some photo books this week!
(Details at the end of the post)
Here is the Shutterfly book I made.
I ordered it last Sunday night.
I got an e-mail that it was shipping on Tuesday.
And I had it in my little hands on Thursday!
It full of pictures highlighting our 2008:
I used the same set of photos of the boys for the cover
and for the first page in the book.
And for the back cover.
I have made Shutterfly books in the past.
I love how easy it is select the templates and drop photos into them.
If you have 4 photos for one page - you go to the 4 photos on a page template and select from all the variations of placement.
For this book, I wanted it to be coffee table style with BIG pictures
The whole book that I made is 8x8.
I tried to group a close up photo next to a more detailed, farther away photo.
By doing this, my eye goes directly to the close up shot when I turn the page.
Here are some more examples:
Make sure you get a few pictures of yourself in there...even if you have to stack the camera on boxes and hit the self timer....which is what we are doing here. Yes, that was the best one we got.
This one is an example where both pictures are a little too similar - so there isn't really a focal point.
I had 2 ideas for this book.
1. To have a full page photo on one side and then a kid quote on the facing page.
2. Or to just add a list of places, events and things related to our 2008.
I went with the simple list.
I have to say, I love love love my book.
The photos of photos really don't do it justice here on the blog.
The cool things is, I have this project saved at Shutterfly.
I can easily print out more for Christmas gifts this year!
If you want to check out the Shutterfly books that are currently on sale - you can find them HERE.
(Note - I added pages to my book in addition to the standard amount. It was only .80 more per page.
I was like - hey, for .80...add another one.
Add 10 more!)

To win a 7x9 soft cover book from Shutterfly
Just post a "HI"
or a fun topic to make a book about
in the comments.
Yes - you can comment as many times as you like.
No, it doesn't help to say nice things about me
because a random number generator selects the winner:):)
Other topics I want to make a book about:
Fun family quotes
Our California Trip
Karate
Pictures of my boys jumping off of things....maybe call it "Feet off the ground"
Hmmm....I think I could come up with a lot of these!
The winner will be posted
(along with the next give away item)
on Tuesday morning!
Thanks Shutterfly!
